In the last quarter of every year, the Foundation hosts an Annual Law Lecture Series, a symposium tailored for undergraduate law students. The Series serve as a platform for knowledge dissemination, fostering academic growth, and equipping future legal professionals with insights into emerging trends and challenges in the legal field.
The inaugural edition took place in 2022 at the law faculty campus of Godfrey Okoye University. During this event, penultimate and final year law students, soon to conclude their undergraduate studies, were educated on the theme “Emerging Trends in Real Estate Practice: Property Technology.” The lecture, moderated by Barrister Ruth Soronnadi, featured Dr. Charles Dioha, a seasoned practitioner in the field, as the keynote speaker. As part of the Foundation’s commitment to academic enrichment, copies of His Lordship’s books, ‘ABC of Contemporary Land Law in Nigeria’ and ‘Hon Justice Innocent Umezulike: A Chronicle of Leading Judgements,’ were donated to the Godfrey Okoye University Law Library.
Continuing its tradition, the Foundation held the second edition of the Annual Law Lecture in 2023 at Ebonyi State University. The event attracted law students, faculty staff members, including the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Matthew E. Nwocha, the Librarian, Dr. James Ogba, and the Faculty Officer, Mr. Chinedu Anthony Aleke. Barrister Ikenna Okoli, serving as the guest lecturer, delivered an insightful address on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Predicting Real Estate Market Trends: Legal Implications and Ethical Considerations.” Once again, the Foundation demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence by donating legal texts to the EBSU library, facilitated by Barrister Ruth Soronnadi.
Through the Annual Law Lecture Series, the Foundation continues to make a lasting impact on the education and professional development of undergraduate law students, ensuring their preparedness to navigate the complexities of the legal profession.
