Law in Schools Program

Empowering the Next Generation of Legal Minds

The Law in School Program is a transformative initiative designed by the Foundation to introduce secondary school students to the fundamental principles of the law, and to empower them with essential legal knowledge and skills. Through interactive sessions, and practical activities, this program aims to inspire and educate the next generation of legal minds, equipping them with the tools they need to navigate the complexities of the legal system.

Key Objectives:

  1. Educational Empowerment: The primary goal of the Law in School Program is to provide students with a foundational understanding of key legal concepts and principles. By demystifying the law and making it accessible to young learners, we aim to ignite their interest in legal studies and encourage them to pursue further education and careers in the legal field.
  2. Empowerment Through Knowledge: By arming students with a basic understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and the legal system, we empower them to become active and informed citizens. Whether it’s understanding their rights in the workplace, in their communities, or in interactions with the law enforcement, students learn to advocate for themselves and others.

Through the Law in School Program, we are creating a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the classroom. By empowering students with legal knowledge and skills, we are not only preparing them for future academic and professional success but also fostering a deeper sense of civic responsibility and engagement. As these students become active participants in their communities, they contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals such as Quality Education (SDG 4), Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

The program has successfully implemented three batches since its inception. Batch A was conducted at Brightland International Academy, Batch B at Day Secondary School, and Batch C at Roseville Secondary School, all in Enugu State, Nigeria.

The Law in School Program is more than just an educational initiative; it is a catalyst for positive change, empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to shape a better future for themselves and their communities. Through this program, we are laying the foundation for a more just, equitable, and empowered society, one student at a time.
